Plumbline Ministries was founded without a vision. We were a small group of people who called ourselves life givers and we created a name for our group simply because it was the American thing to do. We never dreamed of being here today.
Fourteen years later, we do have a vision.
The Church is in transition and the Church of tomorrow is not the Church your fathers knew. The new season we are in requires a different vehicle for God to express His purposes, and that will mean different building blocks.
The call of the Church has always been for transformation. In the Mercy Season the scope and means of that transformation will be different. It is not yet clear what the emerging Church will look like. It is clear, however, that it will need a much more robust theology than we have at present.
Plumbline Ministries is a think tank. We are not builders. We are devoted to discovering and articulating new resources. We provide “materials” so that the King’s builders have what they need in the new season.
God arranged for the Israelites to have the building materials they needed before the plans for the tabernacle were given. David likewise accumulated the necessary resources for the temple prior to its construction.
We don’t know when the King will be building the new expression of the Church. That is not our concern. Our role is to express the new revelation He provides so that when He gives the plans to the builders, there will be no shortage of appropriate materials.
Thus we research, we test new insights, and then we release them to the Body of Christ for the King to put in the hands of His builders.
Where will we be 14 years from now? We have no idea. We have changed significantly over the last 14 years as the Kingdom has changed and our assignments from the King have changed. We have no idea how long the preparation of the building materials will last. We are simply deeply immersed in fulfilling our current assignment out of love for the Great King.
